CONGRATULATIONS, YOU ARE HERE TO GROW. To grow your business, you must look at your mindset, your vision and understand your WHY.

Growth starts with YOU and in order to move forward, you must:

1. Develop a clear vision
2. Challenge yourself to do things you’ve never tried before
3. Lead the right team

Have you ever heard, “Work on your business, not in it?” Of course you have. To actually be able to work ON your business, you need tools to do so. You need to identify the steps to get you out of the weeds. Simply not showing up or taking a vacation isn’t the answer. Most retailers never find their way out of the weeds. It took me 25 years to figure it out, but when I did, my entire life shifted.

As business owners, we go about our daily business tasks doing the best that we can. We want to build teams of people that we can trust and we want to have standard operating procedures for our teams to follow, yet we put those duties on the back burner because “we are too busy” then we complain that we can’t find and keep good employees.

Here’s a little secret. Good help is out there and you can attract them by having a good company culture, high quality values and a strong leadership team. Once you find that help, empower them to make decisions, let them bring value to your team and encourage them to share ideas. No one wants to be micromanaged and if anyone knows about micromanaging, it’s ME! I did it all wrong until I learned how to do it right. Growth happens in the clouds, so get out of the weeds and start working on being a business owner instead of an operator.
