Why Every Business Owner Needs a Quarter 4 Strategic Plan

Most business owners don’t finish the year with a plan. They simply repeat what they did last year—without taking into account how quarters 1, 2, and 3 actually performed.

Here’s the problem: if your first three quarters didn’t go the way you hoped, but you still have a yearly revenue or profit goal to hit, you can’t just “coast” into October, November, and December. You need a better strategy for Q4—because that’s where the year is won or lost.

That’s why I created my Quarter 4 Strategic Planning Guide.

This guide is built on my own hard-learned lessons as a 30-year retailer and now as a retail business coach. Every holiday season, I found myself running out of time, running out of inventory, and running out of energy. I can’t say I ever truly enjoyed the holidays as a business owner. But with a plan in place, I could breathe.

The guide helped me:

  • Decide what kind of team I needed, how many people, and where the weak spots were.

  • Map out how to reach my existing clients and calculate how many new clients I needed to meet my goal.

  • Plan marketing in advance, instead of scrambling in the busiest months of the year.

  • Enter the season with a strategy, not day-by-day survival mode.

And here’s the truth: September is not too early. Between ordering inventory, scheduling promotions, and training your team, you need lead time to finish strong.

As a mentor for Pinnacle Global Network and through my company, The Retail Lab, I see firsthand how business owners stay stuck in urgent mode instead of shifting into growth mode. They spend their time putting out fires instead of empowering their teams, building systems, and staying in visionary mode.

I know how hard it is when you don’t have a big team—you still have to plan. That’s why I created The Retail Lab: to help business owners get out of the weeds and find freedom. Over the years, I’ve helped business owners start, scale, and exit their companies. I’ve helped them love their business again. I’ve helped them streamline meetings (or cut unnecessary ones), build stronger teams, improve culture, hire more effectively, and put systems in place that actually work.

I know what it’s like to struggle as an entrepreneur. I never want my clients to feel the way I once felt—alone, overwhelmed, and gasping for air. Coaching changes that. When my clients work with me, they feel supported, guided, and able to breathe again.

🎁 Want the guide? It’s completely free—no hooks, no catch, no coaching pitch. Just email me and I’ll send it to you.

Because Q4 shouldn’t be about stress. It should be about having a plan that lets you hit your goals and actually enjoy the season.
